Trinium Enhances Chassis Management Capabilities

PALOS VERDES, California – Trinium Technologies, a leading provider of business software for the container drayage industry, continues to enhance all aspects of chassis management within its core transportation management system.

The chassis changes in the U.S. intermodal industry are well documented. The steamship lines are no longer providing chassis as part of their bundled container services to their customers, a model that is common throughout the world. These changes have placed a new burden on container drayage companies. “Drayage companies now have to track chassis, invoice for chassis rental fees, and manage payables to the chassis vendors. This has all created an administrative load in dispatch and accounting”, said Dennis Lane, vice president of sales and marketing of Trinium Technologies.

Improving chassis management has been a top priority of Trinium’s user advisory group. Trinium has added functionality to its base system, Trinium TMS, to auto-rate chassis rental fees on customer invoices and recently released a new program to upload invoices from the chassis providers directly into the system. This program will automate the manual process of reconciling chassis payables. “The chassis payables enhancement will enable our customers to save time and money and will serve as an audit for them to make sure they have invoiced their customers for all the chassis usage”, said Dennis Lane.

Trinium also provides trucker owned/leased chassis functionality, which was originally designed for Canadian customers, but is growing in utilization in the U.S. Trucker owned/leased chassis can be tracked as an asset with chassis utilization reports also available.
